Air frying is a new way of cooking that replaces all those greasy finger-licking meals with healthy, crispy ones! Now you can cook anything from chicken fingers to sweet potato fries and even cheesy onion rings without ever having to touch an oven or stovetop again.
Air fryers work by circulating heated air at high speed around your food which makes it as if they were deep-fried but actually better for you because there’s no need for oil–win-win situation right? So what else can be cooked in my awesomely nifty device other than hot dogs? Try out these recipes: apple pie cinnamon french toast sticks, roast turkey dinner casserole
Make the tastiest hot dogs ever in your air fryer! Cooked to perfection, these hotdogs are crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. These fast, easy eats make for a great family favorite treat that will have everyone begging you for more. Make them when feeding hungry children or guests as they’re perfect either way!
Recently it occurred to me that I could not name a single food dish that brings back more memories than the hot dog. From being at my first baseball game, or eating one out of an aluminum pan with all the fixings on top of our picnic table outside in summertime – there’s just something about them!
I have had a love affair with hot dogs for years and am quick to grab whichever flavor is available when they are served up anywhere from ballgame concessions stands, backyard cookouts, camping trips, or weeknight dinners. Recently though I realized how much these simple sausages trigger so many happy childhood memories every time someone mentions them around here because you can’t say “hotdog” without getting smiles and laughter no matter what setting is.
Hot dogs in an air fryer:
I love my Phillips Air fryer. You can cook hot dogs in it, too! It only takes about 5 to 6 minutes and they come out perfectly with all the flavors of a grilled dog. I turn up the heat to 390 degrees then pop ’em right into my air fryer for 8-10 minutes depending on how chewy you want them.
There is no need to wait until summer or warmer weather for a hot dog when you can have one ready in less than 10 minutes. I’ve had them boiled, steamed, grilled, and microwaved but nothing beats the old-fashioned way of grilling dogs on an open flame with some veggies thrown into the mix! The best part about this cooking method? There’s never any leftovers because they are so good it will disappear before your eyes.

Ingredients:
Hot Dogs 6
Hot Dogs Buns 6
Cheese if desired
For toppings: ketchup, mustard, pickles, or whatever you want.
Procedure:
- Preheat your air fryer to 390 degrees for about 4 minutes.
- For a hot dog that pops and cracks in all the right places, you want it nice and crispy! Place two hot dogs into the air fryer, cook for about 5 minutes
- Remove them from their buns with tongs (they’re HOT!), then let ’em cool on a plate covered by aluminum foil while we get our other ingredients ready…
- Place dressed Hot Dog onto an un-split bun of choice–not just any old bread will do!–then add cheese if desired before returning them to the now heated up Air Fryer at 390F/200C° AND adding 2 more mins cooking time than they were originally cooked earlier so as not to overcooking
Amazing tips:
You do not have to prick or slice your hot dogs before air frying. They will not explode on you.
You can give them diagonal slits if you want to give them kind of a grilled look, but it is not necessary! The better the quality of the hot dogs the better they taste and flavor themselves with heat during the cooking time in an Air Fryer (which we all know how great our favorite foods smell when those steaming plates come out).
One thing that’s fun about making these tasty treats for yourself at home, too, is figuring out what toppings are best paired together- like adding some ketchup mixed with mustard sauce then dusted by crushed onion crisps from a baggie onto one half of your bun while spring.
Conclusion:
Some people say that the best hot dogs are cooked on the grill but not every person has a barbecue. Fortunately, with an air fryer, you can have crispy and perfectly cooked hot dog buns in less than 10 minutes! No need to preheat your air fryer or oven before putting them inside. It’s perfect for preparing yourself one single tasty treat when no other food is available like during those power outages we’ve been experiencing this summer.
