I must say, these chicken legs are way at the top of my favorite recipe list. I love crispy and juicy meat which is perfect in this dish! You get an explosion of tasty goodness when you bite into one because they’re so succulent on the inside but also nice and crispy on the outside. This dark chicken meat tastes like something that’s been freshly fried to perfection with a light sprinkle over some crunchy spices – it really makes your mouth water just thinking about it!
If you have tried dozens upon dozens of different recipes for delicious air fryer chicken legs, then there’s no doubt that mine will be right up your alley too – not only do they taste incredible (crunchiness from both sides!), but cooking them.
Air fryers can be an easy way to keep from getting bored of chicken breast-based dinners. Our favorite is these crispy, flavorful drumsticks that are so simple with just a spice rub as the only required seasonings for this dish. We recommend serving them up alongside some Creamy Corn Macaroni and Cheese Casserole for comfort food at its finest!
The best part about air frying? You get all the flavors you love without having to turn on your oven or stovetop–which means less time spent in front of those appliances while they do their thing and more time cooking delicious dishes like our Crispy Air Fried Chicken Legs seasoned with spices such as cumin, paprika, garlic powder, onion salt (all optional).

Ingredients:
Chicken legs 6 pieces
Brown sugar 3 tbs
Salt to taste
Ground black pepper 1tbs
Ground mustered 1tbs
Onion powder 1tbs
Garlic powder 1tbs
Smoked paprika 1tbs
Cayenne powder ¼ tbs
Olive oil 1tbs
Procedure:
Preheat your air fryer to 370°F. Drizzle olive oil over the chicken drumsticks,
then generously season with salt and pepper while rubbing it in well so that all parts of the skin are covered.
Add a sprinkle or two more of garlic powder for flavor as desired, then place them neatly side by side on an air fryer basket without too much space between each leg so they cook evenly (you’ll be flipping them halfway through).
Cook at this temperature until cooked thoroughly – about 15 minutes total cooking time if you like crispy legs!
Once done, flip these seasoned gems onto their other sides and continue baking ’til golden browned perfection is achieved; 10-15 additional minutes will do just fine depending on how crisp you want
I’m grabbing a knife and fork, hunting down my food of the day- chicken. I’ll cut through it with ease while taking in all its succulent flavor then take that first glorious bite!
Use of sauce:
These air-fried chicken legs are great on their own and don’t need any sauce. That said, you can totally toss them with one tablespoon of Buffalo wing sauce per pound of the meat.
Add more if you like it hotter or try my favorite way to make these drumsticks by tossing in a 50/50 mix between hot sauces and BBQ sauces for an extra kick while still keeping some rich flavor intact!
As far as side dishes go I love pairing garlic mashed potatoes with my beloved drumsticks because they complement each other very well without being too heavy after eating so many sticks
For something healthier but no less tasty try this really delicious tomato cucumber salad paired alongside your meal that’s also low carb thanks to its fresh ingredients!
Tips for cooking chicken legs in an air fryer:
Also, it’s a good idea to keep an eye on the chicken during this process and adjust timings as needed or consider dropping temperature if browning too quickly before fully cooked inside.
After removing drumsticks from the air fryer transfer them to a serving platter that will serve hot with a favorite side dish or salad.
For perfectly crispy skin, it’s important to pat your chicken drumsticks dry with a paper towel before you coat them in the oil and spices. This removes any excess moisture which ensures that when they cook up there will be amazing crispiness on their surface!
Don’t forget also to preheat your air fryer just like you would for oven-cooking, so make sure that 400 degrees F is set as well (or whichever temperature works best for what you are cooking).
Don’t overfill or else the food won’t cook evenly since all of these units have rotating baskets where hot air can circulate freely.
Conclusion:
Air-fried chicken legs are so easy to make in the air fryer. You can cook them all at once, using just one pan! We want to be sure that we cook them until they reach a temperature of 165 degrees (F).
The key is crispy skin with juicy meat on the inside. That’s what you get from an air-fried dish – and it only takes about 10 minutes too!
